The Bold Hotel Lord Street Southport
The Bold Hotel has changed dramatically and I was nicely surprised when walking in to see the amazing new interior. Blacks and golds adorn the bar area and then through to the elegant restaurant. The Bold has been on Lord Street Southport for many years and recently it has been taken over by a new chain giving the town a much needed boutique hotel .

My starter was calamari which instead of rings was straight cut so making it easy to eat. It was served on a bed of lettuce and chorizo. Great start!!

Mmmm. What shall I have next?? From a diverse menu I chose the welsh rack of lamb which tasted of delicious anchovy. It was really succulent with whole carrots and creamed potatoes to compliment.

Amongst dishes that I'm going to try in future, the battered fish looked amazing and there was a lovely looking vegetarian dish, spinach, broccoli & goats cheese filo basket.

Dessert time. After much deliberation The Lemon Meringue Pie Eaton Mess won my vote and what a great choice I made!Delicious citrus flavours ensured that I left with a lovely taste in my mouth. There is a great list of desserts Including creme brle and wild berry & vodka caprice delice!!

Service from Onan was lovely, a really nice cheery girl and nothing was too much trouble

My overall opinion was of surprise and pride that one of Southport's iconic locations has returned in such a great way. The hotel rooms are sumptuous as is the amazing function room.

I will be sure to return.
