Town Green Brasserie I Visited Town Green Brasserie ,which is off the beaten track in a lovely setting in Aughton near Ormskirk
The restaurant is really cosy but it was a warm day so I decided to sit outside and it was great atmosphere.
It's popular in the evening to sit outside as there is wall lighting and heaters.
The young team headed by Paul are so efficient and helpful Lauren the waitress was charming and not intrusive and Sam the wine waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. I met the Chef ,Lee and he is obviously very experienced and discussed the food where it was sourced from.
The menu was interesting and varied so I chose the Devilled crab starter which was delicious. It was presented in a Kilner jar with a tiny salad and was so artistic
The main course was fabulous , it was roast hake with peas & smoked bacon.the hake was pure white and moist and delicious The last time I had Hake was in Spain so it brought back memories .
I thought NO dessert for me .... but when I was tempted to creme brûlée with rhubarb I couldn't resist and I'm glad i ordered it as it was scrumptious accompanied with crispy ginger biscuits.
The cold drinks are really interesting I had homemade lemonade and elderflower with cucumber which were both refreshing . There is an extensive wine list.
The whole experience was really lovely and I can't wait to return.
